Black Walnut Syrup
Ingredients : 100% pure Black Walnut Sap
• Collected from local woodlands, February to March
• Minimum sized taps for maximum long term tree care
• Boiled down all day and well into the night
• 50mLs of sap makes ONE mL of syrup!
Flavor Notes : Complex and smooth, nutty with undertones of butterscotch and maybe a hint of chocolate
If you are familiar with the flavor profile of the shagbark hickory (Carya ovata) syrup, you will recognize some of the warm tones in black walnut (Juglans nigra) syrup. Both come from the Family Juglandaceae and have similar taste components. That is to say, remarkably delicious.

Suggestions : First off, it's really the best straight out of the jar!! But amazing on waffles and pancakes. Add it to your oatmeal or granola! Incredible on plain Greek yogurt or drizzled (generously!) over vanilla gelato. Good with oatmeal too!
